Focus on Fashion with Alexander McQueen

As Savage Beauty opened  up last week in the V&A I thought we would have a quick peak at a look from  spring summer 15 collection.

I don’t think I will be rushing out to buy the coat at this price point but I love the look!

Sarah Burton drew inspiration from kimonos and other aspects of Japanese culture for Alexander McQueen’s Spring ’15 collection. Floral prints, cherry blossom embroidery and hand-painted petals evoked Geisha-style romance on the runway, toughened up by Samurai belts, harnesses and lace-up sandals.

Alexander McQueen’s coat kicks out at the waist in a flattering A-line silhouette – sharp padded shoulders and graphic layered lapels balance the volume. This Resort ’15 piece is meticulously embroidered with royal-blue florals, inspired by Henri Matisse’s cutouts.
